About Me

Engineer, Researcher & Entrepreneur

Asiwome Boateng

I'm a DevOps & Cloud Engineer with a unique background that bridges technology and materials science. Currently pursuing my PhD in Materials Engineering at KNUST, Ghana, I bring engineering rigour to every infrastructure challenge.

With 3+ years of hands-on experience, I specialize in designing, automating, and deploying production-grade AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Nginx. I've delivered CI/CD pipelines and containerised application deployments that reduced deployment friction and improved release consistency.

Beyond engineering, I'm the Founder & CEO of PLASTICO GHANA LTD — a circular economy startup producing sand-plastic composite bricks from recycled plastic waste. As a published researcher with peer-reviewed work in Elsevier journals and an active peer reviewer, I thrive at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and technology.

Sustainability Focus

My research and entrepreneurial work converge on sustainability. At PLASTICO GHANA, I'm developing sand-plastic composite bricks that divert plastic waste from landfills while creating affordable building materials. My academic publications on corrosion inhibition also explore green chemistry approaches using expired pharmaceutical compounds as eco-friendly inhibitors.
